Bazooka Tango, the video game studio behind the NFT-based game Shardbound, has announced a limited playtest opportunity for eager players. Scheduled to kick off on February 21, the 10-day playtest, named “Ascent to the Shards,” will grant access to 2,000 lucky participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Australia-based studio emphasized that this playtest represents the latest iteration of the game, incorporating valuable feedback received from earlier tests conducted last year. Bo Daly, co-founder of Bazooka Tango, expressed excitement about showcasing the progress made, promising new gameplay content, enhanced user interface, updated card distribution systems, additional 2D card art, and comprehensive testing of card progression.
Shardbound, built on the Immutable zkEVM Ethereum scaling network, offers a fresh gaming experience leveraging blockchain technology. Immutable zkEVM, currently in early access for select developers, is poised to open up to a broader developer audience later this year.
Bazooka Tango collaborates with Immutable Games on Shardbound’s development, aiming to revitalize the game initially introduced as a traditional PC game by indie studio Spiritwalk Games in 2017. The decision to infuse blockchain elements into Shardbound reflects a strategic move to breathe new life into the game, following its earlier release that garnered limited traction among players.
Players eager to embark on the Shardbound journey can sign up for the exclusive playtest via the game’s official website, securing their spot to experience the game’s latest evolution firsthand.
