A new charity NFT project, “I Heart LA,” has been launched to aid families affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. The initiative, curated by Web3 fashion startup mmERCH, features original digital artwork from seven prominent artists, including Larva Labs (the creators of CryptoPunks), Grant Yun, Gremplin (CrypToadz creator), Nice Aunties, Chikai, ClownVamp, and Goyong.
From January 17–19, collectors can mint one of the NFTs for 0.0069 ETH (approximately $24) via highlight.xyz. Each purchase will randomly generate one of the seven unique pieces, with all proceeds going to Baby2Baby, a nonprofit dedicated to providing emergency supplies such as diapers, formula, food, and hygiene products to families displaced by the fires.
Colby Mugrabi, CEO and founder of mmERCH, emphasized the urgency of the project:
“It’s impossible to not be affected by what’s happening in Los Angeles. Among our team, dozens of friends, collaborators, and colleagues have been directly impacted by these horrific events. We quickly realized that there was an opportunity to harness the power of digital assets and blockchain technology to have a direct and immediate impact on fundraising efforts.”
