Interactive Brokers has launched its crypto exchange service in Hong Kong to allow its clients from the region to exchange BTC and ETH.
Professional investor clients such as institutions with holdings greater than HKD 40 mln and Hong Kong residents with more than HKD 8 million can exchange crypto beside other classes of assets that can be found on the platform of Interactive Brokers. By doing this, the company hopes to create a unique client experience.
Crypto exchange via Interactive Brokers in Hong Kong is supported by OSL Digital Securities and comes with commissions between 0.2 and 0.3 per cent of the trade value, in accordance with monthly volume. There is a USD 2.25 minimum for ordering crypto and the company declares that there are no additional markups or spreads. The roll out of this initiative follows the development of regulation for crypto in the region. Reportedly, crypto investors are increasingly curious about digital assets.
According to Interactive Brokers’ Head of APAC, investor request for virtual assets is increasing in Hong Kong and the rest of the globe. The executive declared that the potential benefits for eligible clients range from low costs to trading crypto and other global assets from the company’s platform.
