Renowned American rapper Drake recently shared MicroStrategy co-founder Michael Saylor’s insights on Bitcoin with his vast audience of over 146 million followers on Instagram. This move comes in the wake of Bitcoin surpassing the $72,000 mark.
In his Instagram post, Drake captioned a clip featuring Saylor’s bullish remarks on Bitcoin’s potential. This isn’t the first time Drake has expressed interest in Bitcoin, having previously shared an image of a diamond-encrusted Ledger hardware wallet on his account in 2022. The rapper also scored big in Bitcoin after betting on the outcome of Super Bowl LVI, walking away with $381,000 in Bitcoin winnings.
While celebrities often endorse various cryptocurrency platforms, Drake’s focus seems to be squarely on Bitcoin, the leading digital asset by market capitalization. In the shared clip, Saylor emphasized Bitcoin’s value proposition beyond just being a currency, highlighting its role as a long-term store of value.
Saylor, a staunch advocate for Bitcoin, has spearheaded MicroStrategy’s accumulation of a substantial Bitcoin treasury, currently holding around 205,000 Bitcoin valued at approximately $14.6 billion.
Bitcoin’s recent surge to new all-time highs, surpassing $72,000, follows a period of volatility driven in part by the approval of Bitcoin ETFs by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Major financial institutions like BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Bitwise, and VanEck have also contributed to Bitcoin’s upward momentum by investing millions in the digital asset.
