Twitter has introduced a new cryptocurrency update that allows users to browse for prices of BTC (Bitcoin) and ETH (Ethereum) just by typing the tickers or names into the search tab.
This consists of an update for ‘$Cashtags’ and was introduced on the 21st of December 2022 via the Twitter Business account. When a Twitter user shares a crypto, stock, or exchange-traded fund symbol with the dollar sign ($) in front of it, it will create a clickable link that leads to search results which will now showcase those symbols’ pricing graphs.
Twitter also let users know that they could just search for a stock or crypto ticker symbol and the price graph will be displayed. On 22nd December 2022, Elon Musk (Twitter CEO) retweeted the news of the update, dubbing it one of many updates coming to financial Twitter. So far, just BTC and ETH showcase price charts on Twitter.
However, Twitter users should expect a more extensive range of symbols and better user experience soon, as stated by Twitter Business. Bitcoin variations such as ‘Bitcoin price’, ‘$Bitcoin’, and ‘BTC price’ also displays price graphs, the same being applicable for ETH.
According to Jane Mastodon Wong, a popular tech blogger, the source of the charts come from TradingView, a trading analysis platform.
