NFT collection Nouns will be represented by six characters in costume and a collection-themed float during the annual Rose Parade, on the 2nd of January 2023, in Pasadena, California.
At the beginning of next year, the 134th Rose Parade will take place prior to the college football match between Utah and Penn State. Previously, the NFT project was announced to be included in an indie motion picture and was present in a Super Bowl commercial. The appearance during the Rose Parade has been trusted and funded by the DAO behind Nouns.
The idea was first introduced to the Nouns NFT community by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios in April 2022. The studio behind Robot Chicken was co-founded by Seth Green, the actor being an NFT fan himself. The idea was to create costumes and even a parade float and film this for a documentary.
The Nouns NFT collection is a project based on Ethereum that organizes NFT auctions every day. All the resulting ETH is stored in a community treasury. Those who own Nouns NFTs have voting rights on proposals which need to be funded from the said treasury. Currently, the community chest is made of ETH worth approximately USD 32.7 million. The fund exists to further develop Nouns’ purpose of designing open-source Intelectual Property (IP).
For the Rose Parade appearance, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios received approval from Nouns DAO for funds tallying 610 ETH. This was requested by the studio for creating the float, costumes, and filming the event.
