Wylie Aronow, an NFT entrepreneur and co-founder of Yuga Labs, the designer of CryptoPunks and BAYC, has announced that he will go on hiatus to place his health first on his list of priorities.
On the 28th of January 2023, the 144,900 Twitter followers of Aronow found out from the man himself that he decided to take a leave of absence as a result of a heart failure diagnosis. The NFT businessman stated that, despite him experiencing somewhat mild symptoms and the possibility to live a close-to-normal life, due to his condition accelerating quickly, he was left with no choice but to step back from work.
So far, Yuga Labs fans don’t have a clear date for his recovery and return to NFT-related work. Wylie Aronow declared that he will remain a strategic advisor and board member of Yuga Labs. His heart failure diagnosis is not the first medical reason preventing him from working.
In his twenties, Aranow had to deal with a chronic illness that prevented him from making progress in his career. Once he recovered, he helped to create Yuga Labs. He stated that he did not want to waste his found opportunity in life. After he pushed his limits, working 12 hours per day, almost every day, he now states that he should not have overlooked advice for finding balance.
Right now, Wylie Aronow’s goals revolve around getting the best possible treatment to heal.
