The English Premier League, England’s first league of professional football, has partnered with France-based NFT marketplace Sorare for four years.
As stated by CityAM, the partnership is worth USD 150 million. As a result of the deal, football fans of the Premier League from all over the world can build their teams to compete for various rewards.
The Ethereum-based NFT platform provides football fans with the chance to become Sorare Managers and take part in a fantasy competition based on the English Premier League. The new non-fungible token experience is available for global fans looking to become a fantasy manager in their favorite sport. Sorare collectors will be able to transact official virtual collectibles that features the players from the 20 clubs participating in the English Premier League.
According to the CEO and co-founder of Sorare, the team at the company is excited about the exclusive partnership with the football league. In 2019, Sorare partnered with West Ham and in 2023, and now it will provide NFTs of the 20 football teams. The chief executive of the Premier League declared that the way football fans support their favorites has evolved and it will continue to do so. So, the League has to adapt and allow supporters new ways to show their love.
