During January 2023, Ethereum’s founder Vitalik Buterin, has moved crypto worth approximately USD 12 million across several digital wallets.
As reported by an investigation from LookOnChain, the wallet address ending in 0x9e92 got 9,3k Ethereum in the last 20 days. This whale address is reportedly tied to Ethereum’s creator.
More than likely, the payments’ recipient is Buterin, due to the hints of the address that ends in 0xd04d. So far, LookOnChain reports that 0xd04d got money from a digital wallet under the name of Vb3. Once the transaction was completed, the whale increased its total of Ethereum to 170,913, with a total value of approximately USD 265.3 million. The transaction’s history does not hint at a certain activity which would have us believe that the whale address is actually tied to a particular exchange or if it functions as an unregulated counter.
Vitalik does not have an apparent reason to sell his digital assets. However, as was made evident in the past, the Ethereum price was negatively influenced by similar activity. That is because traders, investors, and users in the crypto space who follow Buterin on his social media accounts are influenced by his actions. His latest reported move may give off a pessimistic vibe which can, eventually, negatively affect Ether’s price.
During the first weeks of January, Ethereum, which is the second largest crypto, noticed some reported important bullish movements. At a particular time, Ether succeeded in breaking past the USD 1,6k level. ETH hit a resistance point of approximately USD 1,5k and now trades at about USD 1,550.
