German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, through its Web3 arm, Mercedes-Benz NXT, has joined forces with digital art community Fingerprints DAO and Dutch artist Harm van den Dorpel to launch a new generative art non-fungible token (NFT) collection titled “Maschine.” Drawing inspiration from automotive concepts, the collection showcases 1,000 unique Ethereum-based tokens and explores themes of velocity and perception, capturing the essence of a wheel in motion. The sale of the NFTs will commence through a Dutch auction starting on June 7.
In a bid to connect emerging digital art with the traditional art world, Mercedes-Benz NXT has outlined its plan to launch three primary collections overseen by the creative studio 0xNXT. These collections will serve as the foundation for their NFT ecosystem, which will also incorporate satellite and peripheral projects. Fingerprints DAO, an autonomous decentralized organization, has meticulously curated a gallery of NFT artworks, thoughtfully chosen by a Curation Committee elected by the community. Within their collection, they proudly feature esteemed pieces like Autoglyphs by Larva Labs and Loot Bags, which the organization recognizes as unparalleled and irreplaceable.
