Ethereum-based blockchain Polygon has partnered with Mastercard to roll out an accelerator programme for artists on Web3.
The initiative seeks to promote musical artists with potential through Web3 tech and other innovations based on blockchain technology. One of the biggest names in payments processing, Mastercard has previously contributed to promoting musical talent. The Mastercard Artist Accelerator, as stated by Polygon, is set to launch sometime in the spring of this year. At first, only 5 artists will take part, ranging from producers to DJs and musicians, to represent the variety of the music industry.
Those to take part in this program will discover the right tools and skills to bring their music careers to the digital world and digital economy. Musical artists will be taught how to develop and shine a spotlight on their brand by minting NFTs, participating in events held in the metaverse, and maintaining a digital community.
According to Polygon Studios’ CEO, Web3 can help musicians to grow fanbases and make a living, besides finding new ways to express themselves and connect with fans. Besides musical artists, Mastercard’s programme made in partnership with Polygon addresses music fans as well. They can join the platform and learn more about Web3 and how it can benefit the music industry.
