Spanish National Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza is set to make history by minting its own collection of NFTs, featuring masterpieces by renowned artist Vincent Van Gogh.
The exclusive NFT collection is made possible through a partnership between Olyverse, a metaverse platform, and the museum. The artworks have been converted into high-definition NFTs using blockchain technology and certified by the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum. Only 100 limited-edition NFTs will be available for purchase through a collaboration with Telefónica and its NFT marketplace. This initiative aims to democratize access to art, offering individuals a new and immersive way to experience Van Gogh’s works.
As part of the collaboration, NFT owners will also have the opportunity to display their digital artworks using blockchain-powered displays, made possible through a collaboration with tech giant LG. The choice of Van Gogh as the inaugural artist for the Olyverse platform was deliberate, given his universal recognition, disruptive creativity, and alignment with Olyverse’s philosophy.
The metaverse platform, which merges entertainment and education, seeks to become the leading metaverse by offering a wide range of activities, including free daily courses in various fields and unique interactive experiences with celebrities. Olyverse aims to leverage blockchain technology and VR to revolutionize interactions between stars and fans, with a vision for the metaverse to become a thriving 3D environment for social networks and entertainment.
