In a recent interaction on social media, Elon Musk raised a question regarding the departure of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin from the X platform, which Musk had acquired and renamed from Twitter.
Musk’s inquiry came as a response to a tweet from the X account Autism Capital, expressing the opinion that “Vitalik needs to get back on X.”
While Buterin has been actively engaged on Farcaster, a crypto-centric social media platform, Musk’s question suggests curiosity about Buterin’s absence from X. Buterin has expressed satisfaction with Farcaster, noting its usability as a Twitter alternative and praising its features such as channels.
Farcaster gained significant attention recently with the launch of Frames, which enable interactive mini-apps within posts, leading to a surge in daily active users and revenue. Additionally, Farcaster expanded its support to include Solana addresses last month.
Autism Capital expressed a desire for Buterin to engage more on X, suggesting that his presence on a larger platform like X would have a greater impact on the broader community. However, Buterin’s Farcaster account boasts nearly 180,000 followers, and he remains active on the platform, albeit with fewer followers compared to his X account.
As Musk’s query sparks discussions about Buterin’s social media presence and engagement, it highlights the evolving landscape of crypto-centric social platforms and the preferences of prominent figures within the industry.
