The Tensor Foundation, a newly established entity supporting the Solana NFT marketplace, has unveiled its roadmap for the TNSR token, aiming to spearhead an NFT-driven future.
In a Twitter thread posted on Tuesday, the Tensor Foundation outlined its vision for the TNSR token, signaling its commitment to leveraging NFTs as a cornerstone of the digital economy. The announcement, retweeted by Tensor’s official Twitter account, marks a significant milestone for the burgeoning Solana NFT ecosystem.
Launched in 2022, Tensor has emerged as a formidable contender in the Solana NFT space, competing vigorously with platforms like Magic Eden. Data from NFT explorer Tiexo indicates that Tensor currently commands a notable share of the NFT market, reflecting its growing prominence within the Solana ecosystem.
“NFTs today are a niche community on the fringes of the web,” stated the Tensor Foundation. “NFTs tomorrow will power products, businesses, and entire industries. NFT traders will go from thousands — to billions.”
While details on a potential TNSR airdrop were not disclosed, the Foundation previously initiated a “Season 1 airdrop” in May, offering Solana NFT collectors the opportunity to claim reward boxes based on their trading activity.
Highlighting Solana’s scalability and cost-effectiveness, the Tensor Foundation emphasized the blockchain’s suitability for NFT trading infrastructure, essential for achieving widespread adoption.
“To date, Tensor protocols have facilitated over $2 billion worth of Solana NFTs,” the Foundation revealed. “In the last 90 days, they facilitated over 70% of Solana’s NFT trading volume (wash trading removed).”
Moving forward, the Tensor Foundation affirmed its commitment to utilizing the TNSR token as a governance mechanism, empowering the community to shape the future of the Solana NFT ecosystem.
“Beyond stewarding the critical infrastructure, Tensor Foundation will foster an ecosystem of creators and builders dedicated to seeing NFTs succeed,” the Foundation added. “Web3 is about composability — and building together.”
