According to the designers of DeGods and y00ts, the team received USD 3 million to bridge the NFT collections from Solana to Polygon.
The announcement has spread on Twitter, starting with the 6th of January. Initially, the company released the statement on Discord, with the two projects’ founder, Frank III, sharing it on Twitter.
Last year, on the 27th of December, the team of developers declared that the move to Polygon is imminent. The industry followers thought of this as a decisive blow to Solana, after the network was already affected following the collapse of FTX. At that time, the fact that y00ts would receive money to leave Solana was purely speculation.
According to Frank III, the collections’ creator declared that the designers received offers of even more money. However, they decided to cross over to Polygon because, in their view, it would represent the best possible platform for y00ts and DeGods. Frank III also mentioned that the deal was not made for the money, the funds representing just a welcome bonus that will be used effectively.
Solana is not hurt yet by the two collections leaving, since Bonk and other meme coins continue to attract traders back to the network.
