Nayib Bukele, the leader of El Salvador, has displayed the designs for El Salvador’s Bitcoin City.
Recently on Twitter, it was announced that the country has bought a surplus of 500 BTC. As visible in the images provided, Bitcoin City is a city made of gold, having a Bitcoin centerpiece. The images were accompanied by Bukele’s words, the president stating that the project is coming along ‘beautifully’. Soon after, El Salvador’s leader shared four other images showing differend landmarks that will be spread out across the city, one of them being a huge Bitcoin.
However, he made clarifications that the future city will not be as golden as suggested in the model’s photos. According to him, Bitcoin City will display a scheme of green and blue, the various trees which are to be present in the area representing the ‘green’. The city’s location has been set at the base of the Chonchagua volcano. This location will enable bitcoin miners to use geothermal energy for their mining activities. Thus, Bitcoin City will reportedly have 0 per cent carbon emissions.
The president of El Salvador also displayed a perspective shot of a ring-shaped balcony built to observe the city from the top of the volcano.
