NBA’s NFT platform, Top Shot, has been rolled out on mobile phones running on the Android and iOS operating systems.
The marketplace raised over USD 1 billion in NFT sales so far and can now be found on Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
Users of NBA Top Shot will experience an improved way to access the platform and purchase non-fungible tokens on the move. Dapper Labs, the NFT platform’s creator, made the first move in transforming the company into a Web3 company dedicated to mobile technology. Dapper Labs also created the Flow network.
According to the Senior VP of Sports Partnerships of Dapper Labs said that the initiative will allow Dapper to transform the mobile world of Web3 and continue to attract more and more people to the virtual realm. At first, the company will roll out the app in a limited version. Initially, the platform’s users can observe their NFT collection, and platform activity, acquire an NFT moments starter pack, and receive notifications about drops.
The new twist here is the ability to buy NFTs via a mobile app. NFT marketplaces and Web3 startups were required to restrict NFT trading on mobile because Google and Apple asked for sales percentages.
